The legendary German player and coach, Franz Beckenbauer, has died 78 on Sunday, the 7th of January. Twice named European Footballer of the Year, Beckenbauer lifted the World Cup trophy as team captain in 1974, and repeated the feat as a manager in 1990. He also won the European Championship in 1972.
