The Supreme Council of Ossetians awarded the Adaemy Horzaeh order to Stanislav Cherchesov. The event was attended by Soslan Kochiev, the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of Ossetia, as well as Mr. Cherchesov's relatives and friends. The silver nine-pointed star with the Alan warrior in the centre symbolizes three triangular Ossetian pies and the sun. The Adaemy Horzaeh order is the highest form of public encouragement for merits for the people of Ossetia. Worthy candidates are nominated by the district branches of Styr Nykhas, as well as the Councils of family representatives. The nominees are voted on by committee members and residents of North Ossetia.

 

Stanislav Cherchesov: "This is a bit embarrassing because any award is a collective effort and football is a team sport. So it is a bit hard accepting it on my own. But recognition is always nice, especially when it is unexpected. They called me to tell about the award and, naturally, I flew in, and our seniors thanked me for the work that the whole team did. Of course, I am pleased because this is not just any award. It's a public award voted on by the people, which makes it particularly gratifying."
